We Are One in Spirit Podcast Loves Animals!

This week's podcast will feature two animal loving guests: Barbara Techel and Kate Garvey, and two show hosts: LavendarRose and Firesong, who will bring a bit of activism and encouragement.
  • How would your life be different if you could turn every challenge into a blessed stepping stone?
  • Do you ever wonder why you have challenges now and then?
  • Have you ever questioned or wondered, why me?
The story of Frankie, the Walk ‘N Roll Dog is a true, inspirational story about a dog whose life started out just like any other dog walking on all four paws until a spinal injury leaves her paralyzed. When Frankie is custom fit for a wheelchair she gradually learns to keep on rolling. Her zest for life will have you cheering her on and give you hope that all things are possible.

Frankie’s story touches the hearts of young and old as she teaches us how a challenge can become a stepping stone to something more meaningful. Frankie’s motto is: “Always be positive and keep on rolling!”

Award-winning author Barbara Techel will talk about the spiritual blessing our animal friends bring us as she shares the story of how she and her disabled dachshund, Frankie, are bringing joy to the lives of children and the elderly. Barbara will be interviewed by LavendarRose in the first part of We Are One in Spirit Podcast.

In the second half of the show, FireSong will interview Kate Garvey—an animal rights activist and published author who tours the US conducting sound healing workshops. Kate holds a Bachelor's in Music Education, is trained in sound healing, Reiki, and shamanic studies. Her interest in how sound affects us on a cellular level and animal welfare began in childhood at her father's veterinary practice. Kate noticed that by singing to animals they would often calm down. Kate's pet care and animal welfare articles have been read throughout the world. As a kid, Kate saw ghosts and over the years has participated in Native American ceremonies and learned to work with the energy of power animals.

Jesus Christ - The First Animal Rights Activist
by Kate Garvey

Anyone who studies the Bible knows that Jesus Christ was a champion for the underdog. He hung out with the lowly, which in biblical times included tax collectors, sinners, and women. However, historians and most Christians typically overlook the fact that Jesus was also was a champion for animals. By examining scripture we can see that although the ministry of Christ was targeted at humanity, he interacted compassionately with animals though out his lifetime and he may have been somewhat of a vegetarian. Hi Yvonne,
I am so happy to hear you'll feature Barbara and Frankie on your podcast. I absolutely love Frankie. She's on my blogroll and I often post comments on her blog. I've spread the word about her site. One of my best friends even bought two of her books. ;)
Thanks for giving them a chance to educate people about disabled pets. Frankie is a survivor and an inspiration.
